As we continued to nationally expand, we realised cold-calling to unqualified prospects was not effective or sustainable. Nor was our approach in how we trained our Franchisees. Apart from a website we had no online presence, particularly with social media.

This was very evident when one of our sales team was in the process of signing up a new client. This client had no idea who we were and the unique cleaning technology that we provided.

Neither did the client realise that we were a global company and the largest cleaning provider in Australia. From this feedback, we knew had to change the approach in how we market ourselves.

Challenge

We are proud of offering a revolutionary service for corporates. However, our approach in marketing and selling our franchise model to potential franchisee prospects and to promote our services externally was very traditional.

To sell our cleaning services to potential prospective clients we would simply cold-call. Through this approach, it was not only time consuming but challenging to qualify the quality of the leads. For all Franchisee training on new cleaning processes or new technologies, a head office staff would travel to each franchisee’s location. Like the cold-calling, it was a very time consuming and expensive activity. Not to mention, Franchisees would have to work around their jobs to attend the training sessions.

Solution

Whilst we have a marketing function, what we lacked was the video expertise. This is where we knew VevaMEDIA were suited to partner with us.

Not only do they have the skills in producing high-quality videos, they understand the importance of marketing. VevaMEDIA collaborated with the marketing department to ensure the content in the videos met the marketing objectives and aligned their work with our overall marketing plan.

Result

Being upskilled in the world of video, really changed our perception of where and how we should focus our efforts to qualify quality leads. Once we launched the videos online we noticed the leads were coming to us, quickly. What was an even better result was the demo videos produced for our Franchisees meant we could do our training virtually. This saved a significant amount of time and money for both Steamatic HQ and for our Franchisees. We were receiving better-qualified leads for our cleaning contracts, as well as for potential new franchisees.
